The association’s services are designed to support important changes in the way that FHTs enable physicians and allied health professionals to work together collaboratively to promote comprehensive care to patients. Thus:

• Membership in AFHTO is open to all FHTs and participation in AFHTO activities is open to all healthcare professionals, allied health professionals, administrative staff, and FHT board members to promote collaboration and dialogue between all those involved in FHT’s development and operation.
• AFHTO board includes representation from physicians, other and allied health professionals, administrative staff, and members of the public.
•  AHFTO’s mandate promotes cross-disciplinary teamwork/collaboration.
• AFHTO promotes the FHT approach to the general public to reinforce support for this initiative.
